Overview

The Whitegoods Rebate of $100 is available for eligible concession card households to help them buy energy-efficient fridges and washing machines. The rebate is available through the No Interest Loan Scheme, the Brotherhood of St Laurence Progress Loans program or the Good Shepherd Buying service.

Key eligibility

To qualify for the $100 rebate, you must:

  • Be a concession card holder.
  • Successfully apply for a No Interest Loan, a Brotherhood of St Laurence Progress Loan or use the Good Shepherd Buying Service to purchase eligible products.
  • Use a participating NILS provider.
  • Purchase an eligible product which meets the minimum star rating requirements.

Homeowners and renters are eligible for the program.

Items covered

The $100 rebate is available when you use one of the following services:

  • The No Interest Loans Scheme - interest-free loans of $800 to $1,200.
  • The Brotherhood of St Laurence Progress Loans program - for small loans of $500 to $3,000.
  • The Good Shepherd Buying Service which provides free telephone advice to help with negotiating a discounted price on your whitegoods.

Eligible whitegoods are:

  • washing machines with a minimum 3.5-star energy rating and 4-star water rating
  • fridges with a minimum 4-star energy rating.
