I saved heaps on my power bills when......read on!

I am a single pensioner and I like the challenge of saving money.

Brenda's story

There are so many people far worse off than ourselves so I determined to save money wherever I could so I could give something, even a little, to organisations that help those in need.

So between one power bill and the next I got into the habit of turning everything off at the power point, except the fridge, the cordless phone and, of course, the hot water system. When that next bill came in I couldn't believe how much less it was than the last one!

Brenda's recommendations

Try it in your family - make it a challenge for every person, adults and children, and maybe there could be a reward; a special treat for those who remember to 'do the right thing' when the next bill comes in and they see how much less it is!

Well... here goes! After having read thru this website with its suggestions, I will put some of these into practise i.e. turning off power points for appliances not in use. Your experience gives me extra encouragement. Thank you
