"
the most important way to help the earth is to tell people how they can save it

Although I am only 10 I have and can do things for the environment so why can't lots of other people do stuff that I do? I have created a group called the S.E.A (Save the Earth and Animals) at school and I was also selected as a finalist in the inaugural Earth Hour Awards.

Anna Bartos's story

I think that the earth is very important so I try and help it as much as possible. Nothing is impossible so if we keep on helping we may save the earth from climate change

I have donated to WWF, to save tigers and pandas and for other things.

Some friends and me created a group called S.E.A. (Save the Earth and Animals) that anyone can join as long as they want to help the earth and lots more. At S.E.A. we pick up rubbish off the playground, make posters about how important it is to save our world, we tell people about the fact that if our earth didn’t exist we wouldn’t be here and much more.

At home we have solar panels that save energy, a veggie garden where we grow tomatoes, rhubarb, peas, zucchini, strawberries, parsley and more, and insulation in our doors, windows, walls and roof. At school we have an Earth Hour every term when we turn off the computers and lights.

My brother and I also walk to school and my parents walk or ride their bikes to work.

We have chickens at home. At school each class has a bucket for food scraps; lots of families have chickens, and bring home a chook bucket from school to feed them scraps. We do this too.

We have rice meals some nights that is where we only eat rice for a whole meal then we work out how much we have saved and we send it to WWF.

We have joined in Earth Hour every year and I think Earth Hour is something that everyone should do because it saves so much energy and I urge everyone to do it more often and anyway it lowers your electricity bills if you do it enough.

Anna Bartos's recommendations

My tips are turn off all your lights as the more you do the less greenhouse gases go into the atmosphere, and if you have a bath get a bucket and dump it on the garden so the water doesn’t go down the drain.
